Switzerland THE FEDERAL STRUCTURE OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH The basic structure of agricultural research in Switzerland has not changed markedly in the course of the last half-century; however, the roles and competences of the several federal agronomic research institutes have been defined by an ordinance promulgated in 1975; the information that follows is based on this ordinance (Conseil Federal Suisse, 1975).
